Yeah so my new goal it to be prepared for the Spartan Beast on December 8th. The Beast is 10+ miles obstacle mud run. It was be the biggest race yet for me. Out of all the obstacle races I have done the Spartan series are my favorite. The challenges compare to the others but there is accountability for skipping or failing an obstacle, 30 life giving burpees! That makes me smile just thinking about it. Though the last time I did it they didn't make anyone drop chest to the ground and just had to go to a plank position. Still I like it. It encourages you do the obstacles. I'm not sure why it bothers me but it does when I see someone take the easy path and skip and obstacle just to move on. I know they paid for it and they can do the race how ever they see fit but They paid for an obstacle mud run so do it!
I'm starting to follow the crossfit.com WODs they post and add extra running on top of it to get my miles up. So October first was just a 5k run. I believe my finish time was 32 something.
Today's WOD was a bit trickier.
20 Min AMRAP
2 Muscle Ups (substituted pull ups and dips)
4 Hand Stand Push Ups
8 Kettlebell Swings 2 Pood
I don't have my rack so I didn't do the muscle ups and substituted pull ups and dips with 2 of each equaling 1 Muscle Up. The recommended number was 4 to 1. Maybe next time I will be ready for that. I just wanted to move and hit all stations a few times before time was up.
So I got 4 rounds complete and did 3 Hand Stand Push Ups. I'm okay with that.
